The Churches are unique because their solid bronze, hand-crafted qualities contrast with the seemingly weightless balance of the surrealist form.
The sculpture represents the way that memories shift and change in the mind. While studying in Florence, Italy, I was baffled by the intricate architecture of each church and the incredible historical depth. As the years have passed, I have become aware of my memory fading and remembering the feeling of being there with fewer specific details. This sculpture is a vision holding on to the sense of a place while losing its particular information.
